Geosynthetic impact on subgrade bearing capacity and their possible improvement
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Low bearing capacity of subgrade soils can be mitigated using several remedial measures. Beside soil replacement and mechanical or chemical soil improvement weak subgrade can be reinforced using geosynthetic. Presented research in relation with other published results document that not each geosynthetic are able to improve bearing capacity mainly because of its low cooperation between geo¬synthetic and soil. Therefore new variant of geosynthetic has been designed and patented (EP 2 292 845) to secure higher cooperation between soil and geosynthetic. The paper introduces full scale testing of existing conventional geosynthetics observing their influence on soil bearing capacity and preparation of newly designed geogrid made on the base of conventional one. The tests were done at the newly built Geotechnical Laboratory Testing Field which permits among others to arrange full-scale tests of soil bearing capacity.
