HELM aims to increase productivity of European land monitoring by improving alignment between national and sub-national land monitoring endeavours as well as by enabling their integration into a coherent pan-European data system. The Coordination and Support Action HELM, funded under the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission, has started in January 2011 and ended in December 2013. The acronym "HELM" stands for "Harmonised European Land Monitoring".
