The NRI Řež performed a blind simulation of the HM2 test with the MELCOR code. New input model of the THAI facility for the simulation of the HM2 test was developed. All current best practices were applied within the input deck development ? detail nodalization of facility dome part, film tracking network (drainage of condensate among heat structures), spraying of atmosphere by condensate, and drainage of condensate accumulated in gutters or condensate trays. Detail nodalization allowed to model very well a filling phase, but the tuning up process of the simulation of this phase was necessary due to simplified modeling of the hydrogen jet. Simulation of the main objective of the test ? erosion of hydrogen cloud in dome was predicted, but a final qualitative result assessment of this phase will be done in near future.
