The first input model prepared in the NRI for a simulation of the THAI HD-2R test subdivided the THAI test vessel into 13 axial levels with 7 control volumes per level. This test was one of possible exercises within the first open phase of the OECD ISP-49. This very detailed nodalisation was used for the first simulation which identified serious error in the flame propagation among control volumes. The NRI prepared the first corrections and Sandia developer team accepted those corrections and added oneadditional which is important for re-ignition of hydrogen deflagration. Simulation of THAI HD-2R test with the improved version of the MELCOR 1.8.6 identified further problematic topics. Several sensitivity cases were focused on the effect of nodalization, flame speed determination, and user functions for support of deflagration completeness. Presented at the 3rd Meeting of OECD ISP-49 Project, Paris, France, 17.3.2010.
