Requirements for ever higher production productivity bring a major problem in stepping mechanism applications. This is the disturbing residual vibrations in the area of idle stepping displacement diagrams. In the idle (resting) area, the technological function of the machine takes place. Real mechanisms are often very flexible in their driven part due to, for a number of reasons, justified structure of the mechanism or due to the fixture used. The paper deals with the problem of the drive of flexible systems with one main natural frequency in the non-periodical or stepping displacement diagrams that are implemented by electronic cams. The paper deals with one of the methods for minimizing residual vibrations. Electronic cams have their advantages in the flexible change of displacement diagrams (flexible automation), and therefore the method described is suitable for the application.
