Measurement of low-speed pre-ignition for a contemporary low-volume spark-ignition engine
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This work deals with measurement of low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) for contemporary low-volume spark-ignition engine (SI engine) on a dyno test station. In our case for SI engine 1.2 l, 55 kW. The LSPI/super knock is an abnormal combustion event in which the fuel-air mixture ignites before intended, causing excessive pressures inside the engines cylinders. This phenomenon appeared with a “downsizing trend” of cylinder volume of piston combustion engine (reducing the engine displacement while maintaining or increasing the performance of the internal combustion engine- this is achieved mainly due to supercharged). LSPI occurs especially in a turbocharged direct-injection spark-ignition engine, but in our test it is a non-turbocharged engine where LSPI appeared. In mild cases, this can cause engine noise, but when severe enough, LSPI like knock can cause engine damage. There are several factors that contribute to LSPI, of which lubricating oil has been observed to be one.
