    In this work, a setup for evaluating the yarn diameter using different measuring devices was built that allows a simultaneous measurement. The setup device used the CTT instrument where the QQM measuring head was mounted on the path of the yarn. The Olympus i-speed 3 high speed camera captured the yarn passes between the QQM and the camera of CTT. A 100 m of the yarn sample (a one minute run) was tested and recorded simultaneously on the three device. A sample was measured separately on Uster Instrument. As a case study, one air-jet yarns produced on two machine produced by two different machine makers were considered. The individual data of yarn diameters taken from the Uster, the CTT, the QQM and from the image taken by the high speed camera were extracted and converted to real values. Time series analysis, spectral analysis, auto-correlation analysis, Hurst exponent and other functions were used to evaluate and compared the behaviour of the yarn diameter.
