Investigation of moisture management properties of 3-dimensional warp knitted spacer fabrics
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The main idea of this work is to investigate the effect of spacer fabrics characteristics on moisture management properties. Moisture management property is an important aspect of any fabric meant for active sportswear, which decides the comfort level of that fabric. Every human being sweats during different kinds of activities. An important feature of any fabric is how it transports this water out of the body, so as to make the wearer feel comfortable. This research work studies ten different functional 3D warp knitted spacer fabrics containing high-wicking materials characterized by their profiled cross section. These spacer fabrics can be used for protective vest to absorb a user’s sweat, to reduce the humidity and improve user’s thermal comfort. For this reason, the dynamic water sorption of fabrics was investigated under same isothermal and terrestrial conditions at 20±2°C, 65±4% by using the Moisture Management Tester (MMT) which can be used to quantitatively measure liquid moisture transfer in one step in a fabric in multi-directions: Absorption rate, moisture absorbing time of the fabric's inner and outer surfaces, one-way transportation capability, the spreading/drying rate, the speed of liquid moisture spreading on fabric's inner and outer surfaces are measured, recorded and discussed.
