Landeskunde in den tschechischen Lehrwerken DaF

Landeskunde ist ein Bestandteil jedes Fremdsprachen-unterrichts. Ob das auch im Fall der Lehrwerke, die in der Tschechoslo-wakischen Republik und dann in Tschechien benutzt wurden, so ist, wollte eine Untersuchung feststellen. Für die Analyse wurden Lehrwerke ausgewählt, die seit dem Zweiten Weltkrieg bis zum Anfang des 21. Jahrhunderts in der heutigen Tschechischen Republik erschienen sind. Zuerst wird der Begriff Landeskunde allgemein definiert und für Forschungszwecke in zwei Kategorien, die implizite und die explizite Landeskunde, unterteilt. Nach diesem Kriterium werden dann zehn Lehrwerke analysiert, um festzustellen, wie Landeskunde in diesen Lehrbüchern präsentiert wird. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass Landeskunde in den in der Tschechischen Republik bis 2015 benutzten Lehrwerken für Deutsch als Fremdsprache eher implizit als explizit präsentiert wird.

Life and institutions of German speaking countries belong inherently to foreign language teaching and that is why this topic should be included in the German language coursebooks. This chapter deals with the question whether this implies to coursebooks used formerly in Czechoslovakia and later in the Czech Republic. Three coursebooks, which have been used since the World War 2 until present days, were chosen for the analysis. First, the attention is paid to the explanation of the term “life and institutions” and due to the requirements of the research, it is also divided into implicit and explicit presentation of life and institutions. Ten German language coursebooks were analysed according to these set criteria and the aim was to find out how and to what extent are life and institutions represented in such coursebooks. The outcomes of the research showed the representation of life and institutions of German speaking countries until 2015 is more implicit than explicit.
