The paper is a written contribution to the discussion on “Equal and inclusive representation of women in decision-making systems” within the framework of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. The discussion was organized by OHCHR at the 84th session of the the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (was held in Geneva from 6 to 24 February 2023). The contribution to the General Discussion on the Draft of the ‘General Recommendation on Equal and Inclusive Representation of Women in Decision-Making Systems’ draws attention to and makes suggestions on the following topics: A. On Terminology: Participation and Representation in Decision-Making Systems; B. The Internal/External Dimension of Gender Parity; C. What Future for Inclusiveness in a World of Polycrisis: Reflecting on Past (COVID-19) and Upcoming (Climate Change) Emergencies.
