The paper presents new successful approaches to the effective improvement of TQM methods with implementation of knowledge from the Theory of Technical Systems for engineering design education and practice. The key principle of this approach relates to the characteristic levels of use of engineering design knowledge.We have structured them very roughly as follows: ? Intuitive approaches based significantly on previously acquired general knowledge and practical experience ? Methodical-empirical approachesbased mostly on instructions mirroring better or worse " the best theories and practices". ? Flexible systematic proaches based significantly on a system of structured knowledge both from theory and practice.
