Monitoring and Evaluating Cutting Tool Wear using a IFM G4 Microscope
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Evaluation of the cutting tool wear is the general technic when the cutting tool life is monitored. On the base of the cutting conditions and machined material on the cutting edge surface the different tool wear type in-crease. On the base of the tool wear type and where the tool wear is created depend the evaluating parame-ters. All these parameters are describing by standards ISO 3685. When the standard optical microscope is used it is a very difficult to determine volume parameters and in many cases the actual (real) area of the tool wear. These standard optical microscope works on the base of the 2D screening. The new microscopes work on the base of the 3D scanning so, the user have full information about the surface. This article is focused on the evaluation of the volume parameters on the cutting edge generally on the size of BUE and on the for-mation of the groove. For the testing the different type of the cutting tools was used and for the monitoring and evaluation of the tool wear the IFM G4 microscope was used. These parameters are compared with the parameters which was measured on the 2D microscope.
