Das Kapitel reflektiert und analysiert das Bild der Deutschen in tschechischen Filmen über den tschechischen reformator. Die Autorin präsentiert, wie die nationalen Verflechtungen und historischen Konflitkte zwischen Deutschen und Tschechen in Hus-Filmen dargestellt wird. Die Ausstrahlung der dreiteiligen Hus-Filmbiografphie Jan Hus, die das öffentlich-rechtliche tschechische Fernsehen in Kooperation mit dem deutsch-französischen Sender ARTE 2015 zum 600. Todestag des Reformators produziert hat, soll ein Beitrag zum Anlass genommen werden, um der Frage nachzugehen, welche nationalen Codierungen in den kulturellen Erinnerungsprozessen nach dem Fall des Eisernen Vorhangs heute Vermittelt werden und in welchem Verhältnis diese zu dem 60 Jahre zuvor entstandenen monumentalen Spielfilm Jan Hus von Otakar Vávra (1954) stehen.

The chapter reflects and analyzes the image of the Germans in Czech films about the Czech reformer. The author presents how the national intertwines and historical conflicts between Germans and Czechs are portrayed in Hus films. The broadcasting of the three-part Hus-Filmbiografphie Jan Hus, produced by the public-law Czech television in co-operation with the German-French broadcaster ARTE 2015 on the 600th anniversary of the death of the reformer, is intended to contribute to the occasion National codes in the cultural remembrance processes after the fall of the Iron Curtain, and how they relate to the monumental feature film Jan Hus of Otakar Vávra (1954), which was produced 60 years earlier.
