Poppers Kritik an Kant befindet sich in seiner Schrift "Die beiden Grundprobleme der Erkenntnistheorie". Viele Forscher sind sich einig, dass die Schrift Grundprobleme den „Durchbruch“ (Breakthrough) Poppers zu einer eigeständigen philosophischen Position bedeuten. Popper lässt in Grundproblemen seinerzeit einen dezidiert und überaus bewusst eingenommenen Kantischen Standpunkt erkennen. In Grundproblemen ist der Poppersche Ansatz zu Kant nicht nur kritisch, denn Popper begreift Kant nämlich auch als eine bedeutsame Inspirationsquelle. Die Besonderheit der Grundprobleme besteht darin, dass Popper hier eine Analyse und Revision der Transzendentalphilosophie Kants vornimmt. Einerseits weist Popper die Kantische These über die notwendige Geltung der synthetischen Urteile a priori zurück, denn die Frage nach der Übereinstimmung der subjektiven Bedingungen der möglichen Erfahrung mit der objektiven Naturgesetzmäßigkeit lässt sich nicht als die epistemologische Geltungsfrage, sondern nur als die erkenntnispsychologische Tatsachenfrage lösen. Andererseits anerkennt Popper eine Kantische Fragestellung, die gerade die Geltung (beziehungsweise „Möglichkeit“) der Naturgesetze als die strikt universalen Wirklichkeitsaussagen für das erkenntnistheoretische Grundproblem feststellt.

Poppers criticism of Kant is in his work "Die beiden Grundprobleme der Erkenntnistheorie". Many researchers agree that writing basic problems means "Breakthrough" Popper's into a self-consistent philosophical position. Popper's Grundprobleme reveal a decidedly Kantian point of view. - Popper is not only critical, because he sees Kant as an important source of inspiration. The peculiarity of Grundprobleme is that Popper here carries out an analysis and revision of Kant's transcendental philosophy. On the one hand, Popper rejects the Kantian thesis on the necessary validity of synthetic judgments a priori, for the question of the correspondence of the subjective conditions of possible experience with objective natural laws can not be resolved as the epistemological question of validity, but only as the psychological question of fact. On the other hand, Popper acknowledges the Kantian question which states precisely the validity (or "possibility") of the natural laws as the strictly universal statements of reality for the basic epistemological problem.
