This chapter analyses the reprezentation of Russia in conterporary Czech serious literature, Its aim is to trace how art literature poeticized Russian reality and wheter is creates contrasting images to the Chech reality from which we can deduce the understanding of the differences between Russian and Czech nation identity. It examines the extend to which the Czech national identity after 1989 has just been formed in opposition to Rossia.The chapter shows that the position repeats in art text, confiirming the Czech shift to West. Evaluation of Russia, however, is generally far more varied; authors in Russia discover "other" enriching worlds.
