The functional literacy of a modern educator includes the ability to effectively use technology, think critically, and adapt to an ever-changing educational environment. This article focuses on key areas of functional literacy, such as digital literacy, critical thinking, and adaptability, and their importance in modern education. It also presents a functional literacy model that integrates various literacy areas into a cohesive framework and offers practical applications of this model in teaching. Special attention is given to using 3D printing and virtual reality as innovative tools that can enhance student engagement and effectiveness. The goal is to provide educators with tools and strategies for effectively integrating these skills into their teaching practice, thereby increasing student engagement and motivation.
