Sustainable innovation in SMEs in the Czech and German regions
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
In today's world, sustainability is a term that society often encounters. This is a challenge for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Set of research questions was introduced in order to help the authors to fulfill the aim of this paper. The main approach used by authors in order to find an answer to research questions was based on description method using the information obtained during the literature review. Germany is considered to be a strong innovator, whilst the Czech Republic is a moderate innovator. Being labeled as sustainable business comes with great competitive advantage as consumers are willing to pay higher prices for sustainability-related products as the price sensitivity is lower in comparison to non-sustainability-related products and the sales are predicted to grow in greater scale than in the case of conventional products. Supply chain sustainability plays an important role in SMEs sustainable activities, as it results into creation of strategic alliances to improve performance and to reduce costs.
