Measurement and evaluation of shaft torsional vibrations to reveal the rotating blades excitation sources
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The monitoring and diagnostics of steam turbine blades is a very important task for machine safety and reliability. The most common sources of blades excitation are centrifugal and aerodynamic forces. Rotor torsional vibrations can also excite rotor blades and lead to their failure. Negative sequence currents that occur due to unbalance of angular currents in electrical grid may affect turbine generator and excite rotor at twice the rotational frequency. If the blade natural frequencies are close to 2X, the amplitudes of blades vibration can become excessively large due to resonance. One possibility of monitoring of this state is the measurement and correct evaluation of shaft torsional vibrations. The article describes the methodology of shaft torsional vibrations measurement. The measurement chain consists of optical probes, zebra tapes and electronic device with 100 MHz sampling rate for data measurement and thresholding. A signal processing technique based on evaluation of instantaneous angular speed is also described in this paper. Finally, the results of torsional vibrations measurement and evaluation of TG are presented and discussed.
