The paper deals with the determination of dynamic characteristics of a combined electromagnetic actuator whose movable part consists of two active elements (a well electrically conductive ring and ferromagnetic core separated mutually by an insulating rod). The mathematical model of the task based on a combination of the circuit and field equations is supplemented with a mechanical equation describing the movement of the core. A wide range of shapes of the characteristics may be reached by suitable changes of some structural elements (particularly the coil with the magnetic core). The theoretical analysis is illustrated on an example, whose results are discussed.
