The importance of teamwork for the provision of patient safety
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Objective: The aim of the research was to find out how employees perceive patient safety at their own workplace. We focused on aspects of team collaboration as key factors in the security culture. Methods: In order to find out the respondents' views, the AHRQ standardized questionnaire The Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture (HSOPSC). 331 paramedical healthcare workers were included in the research. Results: The value of the composite score for the 37.37% team collaboration between hospital departments was the second lowest in the overall rating. In the Workplace Teamwork dimension, the composite score was 66.82% and in the Patient Transmission and Transmission dimension it was 75.20%. Our presented results confirm the trends of other studies, which show the results of the team cooperation between hospital departments as one of the lowest. Conclusion: Composite indicators are a useful tool for public communication and information transfer because they include more information than individual indicators. Low composite scores show opportunities for improvement. Therefore, it is important for managers to know the views of linemakers and to support interdisciplinary teamwork in the successful development of patient safety.
