Dans le royaume de Boheme fait de plusieurs territories, le roi ne pouvait se passer des nobles. Ceux-ci, meme s´ils durent parfois partager le pouvoir politique avec les villes et les prélats, occupaient les principales fonctions dans les divers pays dela Couronne, aussi bien dans les dietes que dans les tribunaux. La carriere militaire attirait peu et s´effectuait directement au service de la dynastie. Les familles restées catholiques purent placer leurs fils dans de hautes charges ecclésiastiques, mais les nobles ne jouerent aucun role administratif dand l´Église utraquiste traditionelle ni dans les Énglises protestantes.

The Bohemian king was unable to manage the various territories (Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia and Lusatia) of the kingdom without the nobles. These ones, even if they had to share power with royal cities and prelates, held the main offices at diets as well at courts in the different crown´s lands. Military careers attracted little and developed especially at dynastic service. Still catholic families could establish sons in upper ecclesiastical offices, but non-catholic nobles never had an administrative role neither inside the traditional utraquist church nor in the protestant ones.
