The article occupies with the specific component of the rural society in Bohemia at the beginning of the 18th century. The living standard of the priests can been observed above all thanks their inheritance inventories that comprise a lot of significantdata. In the course of time is it so possible to follow a social stratification of the prists that was influenced by the exercised function in the ecclesiastic administration and by the competent benefice. The relevant indicator of the ascendent living,resp. cultural standard seems to be in particular a property of a more quantum of books and/or various luxurious objects (images, clocks, silver coin and objects etc.).
