A proposito di alcuni verbi di movimento in ceco e in italiano

In questo articolo si presta attenzione all’uso del verbo italiano scendere e dei suoi equivalenti cechi più frequenti: il verbo determinato jít “andare (a piedi)”, il sintagma jít dolů “scendere”, il verbo perfettivo sejít “scendere” e il suo corrispettivo imperfettivo scházet “scendere”. Mentre il verbo scendere sembra essere usato universalmente, in ceco esistono diverse possibilità per esprimere il movimento di una persona dall’alto verso il basso. Lo scopo di questo studio è di determinare i contesti in cui i verbi sejít – scházet “scendere” si possono, o meno, sostituire con il verbo jít (dolů) “andare (giù)”. Allo stesso tempo si dedica spazio al verificare fino a che punto esiste una tendenza, in italiano, ad utilizzare l’avverbio giù con il verbo andare, venire o scendere per esprimere il movimento di una persona verso il basso. La ricerca è basata sui dati ottenuti dal Corpus nazionale ceco.

In this paper attention is paid to the use of some verbs of movement in Czech and in Italian. Attention will be paid to the use of the Italian verb scendere ‘to go down’ and its most frequent Czech equivalents: the determinate verb jít ‘to go (on foot)’, the syntagma jít dolů ‘to go down’, the perfective verb sejít ‘to go down’ and its imperfective equivalent scházet ‘to go down’. While the verb scendere ‘to go down’ seems to be used universally, in Czech there are several possibilities for expressing the movement of a person from above to down. The aim of this study will be to define the contexts in which the verbs sejít – scházet ‘to go down’ can, or cannot, be replaced by the verb jít (dolů) ‘to go (down)’. At the same time, we will be interested in verifying to which extent there is a tendency, in Italian, to use the adverb giù ‘down’ with the verb andare ‘to go’, venire ‘to come’ or scendere ‘to go down’, to express the downward movement of a person. The research is based on data obtained from the Czech National Corpus.
