Jeden ze stěžejních úkolů environmentální estetiky (Ronald Hepburn, Allen Carlson, Arnold Berleant) je ukázat, že estetická zkušenost s (nejen) přírodním prostředím není redukovatelná na naše estetické zkušenosti s uměním. Ve svých textech zdůrazňují, že privilegované zaměření estetiků a recipientů na uměleckou oblast jako zdroj estetických prožitků, může vést ke ztrátě citlivosti vůči estetické povaze mimoumělecké oblasti. Environmentální estetikové se proto snaží ukázat, že v rámci estetického pole existují dvě centra, dva typy estetické zkušenosti, které se na se sebe nedají vzájemně redukovat, estetická zkušenost s uměním a estetická zkušenost s přírodním prostředím. V rámci estetického oceňování přírody zdůrazňují především tři diference: absenci předem stanoveného rámce, obsaženost recipienta v daném prostředí a její multisensorickou povahu. Ačkoliv se základními tezemi environmentální estetiky souhlasíme, domníváme se, že umělecká díla mohou důležité rysy naší estetické zkušenosti s přírodou nejen zastírat, ale i ukazovat a to dokonce i ty, které tématizuje environmentální estetika. Tento motiv se pokusíme ukázat právě prostřednictvím interpretace Reggiových filmových esejů. Spojující linií interpretace bude téma rytmu, který je v analyzovaných filmech neseno nejen hudbou Philipa Glasse, ale i specifickým pohybem obrazu.

One of the central tasks of environmental aesthetics (Ronald Hepburn, Allen Carlson, Arnold Berleant) is to show that the aesthetic experience of (not only) the natural environment is not reducible to our aesthetic experience of art. In their texts they stress that the privileged focus of aestheticians and recipients on the artistic domain as a source of aesthetic experience can lead to a loss of sensitivity to the aesthetic nature of the non-artistic domain. Environmental aestheticians therefore seek to show that there are two centres within the aesthetic field, two types of aesthetic experience that are not reducible to each other, the aesthetic experience of art and the aesthetic experience of the natural environment. Within the aesthetic appreciation of nature, they emphasize three distinctions in particular: the absence of a predetermined framework, the recipient&apos;s embeddedness in the environment, and its multisensory nature. Although we agree with the basic tenets of environmental aesthetics, we believe that artworks can not only obscure but also reveal important features of our aesthetic experience of nature, even those thematized by environmental aesthetics. It is through an interpretation of Reggio&apos;s film essays that we will attempt to show this motif. The connecting line of interpretation will be the theme of rhythm, which in the analysed films is carried not only by the music of Philip Glass, but also by the specific movement of the image.
