Municipal solid waste, general and organic, is generated continuously along with population growth and economic development. It is predicted that the world&apos;s waste will increase progressively to 3.4 billion tons by 2050. The rapid generation of wastes means the environment is paying a high price which affects human health through factors such as air pollution and water pollution. This chapter highlights organic waste - its characteristics, methods and technologies for its disposal, and ways to minimize the impact on the environment, in order to achieve the zero-waste goal and the circular economy in the near future.
