Determining the Individual's Mood Using Conditional Expectations

There are different approaches to modeling emotions; the models of emotions based on the emotional appraisal of the stimulus the individual is exposed to, are among them. The presented contribution goes in the same direction. However, the presented model is based on the assumption that the polarity and level of emotional excitement, are crucial for the examination of the emotional impact on the individual&apos;s behavior. Therefore, the procedure of emotional appraisal is proposed, for which are used the stimuli metadata and the so-called conditional expectations. Based on this appraisal and personality characteristics, the mood can be determined, which can then be reflected in the actions and cognitive processes of an individual.
