The chapter presents the results of an international (Czech and Slovak) research in the field of novice teachers' induction. In the first part of the chapter basic terms and legislation related to the issue is dealt with. Then a part presenting inductionin the international (not only in Czech and Slovak) context follows. The substantial part of the chapter describes concrete cooperative Czech and Slovak research and deals with partial research results and achievements - identified problem areas and roles of mentors.
