    Article deals with the state of language competence and with the need of language education in the Army of the Czech Republic (hereinafter ACR). The current state of language knowledge of professional soldiers does not correspond to the requirements set by the defence department. Simply said, many soldiers are not able to use the language as it is expected and as it is set for their service placement. Partly, it is a reflection of globally increasing requirements on language knowledge and also because the Army did not pay attention to the language training and the interconnection of language requirements set for systemized places with the system of career management up to now. Nowadays, it refuses to tolerate the nonfulfillment of language requirements and wants to live up to the commitment to have language skilled personnel on a required level. The meaning of language competence for professional soldiers and connected obligations, which the soldiers have to fulfil in the field of language training, are described in the article. Current state of language competence in ACR which is followed by the possibilities of language education which is provided by the department with the aim to improve current state by their capacity and other restriction is analysed. The last part of this article is compared the real state with the required state in 2019 and with the state which could be achieved in the same period of time in current conditions. This comparison is done due to a model of system dynamics VENSIM and due to data gained from previous chapters. Gained results define the need of further language education in ACR and its adjustments.
