Possibilities of Modelling the Coordinated Maneuver of Units in Difficult Terrain Conditions
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The article describes the possibilities of using mathematical algorithmic models to plan the coordinated activity of a group of units in challenging field conditions. The overall passability of such a space is affected by a variety of situational factors that need to be evaluated as a part of the commander’s decision-making process. The axes of maneuver were calculated by means of the Maneuver Control System CZ, created at the Department of Intelligence Security of the Faculty of Military Leadership at the University of Defence in Brno, which uses digital terrain and relief models to evaluate the terrain. In the induced case study, the axes of maneuvers were calculated for the use of an off-road vehicle, infantry redeployment, and an electric bicycle, comparing their course, distance and surmount time. The calculated results were then partially validated using the MASA SWORD simulator, thereby confirming the accuracy and effectiveness of the mathematical modelling of the maneuver when planning the operation of a group of mobile units.
