The contribution embroiders the questions of SAR (Search and Rescue) at the time of peace and CSAR at wartime. The effective performance of SAR (CSAR) service depends on the synchronization of effort of all stations participating in the SAR organization.Quick decision making, usually under time stress, is the most crucial, while a human life is often dependent on a one single decision. Therefore, pilots must have accomplished their specialized flight training under all meteorological conditions, day and night, at limited visibility and must be able to land at landing zones of limited dimensions as well as in mountaineous terrain. The conclusion describes main items of flight training and proposes material equipment of flight personnel for SAR (CSAR) task fulfillment under contemporary conditions.
