This paper deals with current restrictions given by REACH agreement regarding using toxic materials in double base propellants. It means necessity of replacing toxic and carcinogenic burn-rate modifier containing lead and auxiliary plasticizer dinitrotoluene in rocket propellants produced by Czech manufacturer Explosia a.s. in Pardubice. The paper shows results of ballistic and mechanical experiments on double base propellants with copper organic complex and triethylene glycol dinitrate as replacementsfor former toxic ingredients. Rate of burning is sufficient and slightly dependent on the pressure and the initial temperature. Mechanical characteristics meet all requirements although strength is lower than former mass of propellant.
