Test device for monitoring the effectiveness of oil filters.

The scientific article describes the design and implementation of the laboratory test equipment construction for monitoring oil filters efficiency used in combustion engines, together with the design of a test chain for simulating operating conditions. The design was based on the technical characteristics of oil filters and oil pumps, the hydraulic elements used in the test hydraulic circuit, the characteristics of the combustion engine and the performed calculations. The laboratory equipment enables testing filters suitability with different filtering capabilities and with differently polluted engine oil. The results from measuring the oil filters effectiveness can be used in the design of new filter materials, but also with a suitably established methodology for replacing oil filters and checking the condition of the oil, changing the replacement interval, which has a significant benefit not only from an economic point of view, but also from an ecological point of view.
