Principles of modern nursing applied to conditions of real deployment of troops on the frontline of an armed conflict
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Medical services represent one of the essential preconditions of successful military operations. Work of military healthcare personnel, mainly nurses and paramedics, is very important in prehospital care and has a substantial impact on the overall level of survival and mortality of wounded soldiers. It is very important to separate the work of military healthcare personnel employed in the system of military medical support from the work of those who are deployed on the frontline and provide nursing care to fighting soldiers. This activity is vastly different from any other areas of nursing practice, and therefore it is necessary to perceive a different view. The main goal of this article is to define and describe a combat medic, and to show factors which characterize his work. Another aim is to highlight the need of application of principles of modern nursing in such a specific area of providing nursing care and to point out associated determinants. The aim of this article is to set a basic concept of nursing care in the frontline as an independent nursing discipline with references to other possible directions which are open to further research.
