WHICH COPING STRATEGIES ARE PREFERRED BY STUDENTS IN DIFFERENT MODES OF STUDY?
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The study reports results of a research of coping strategies identified in students in two different study modes: full-time students and part-time students. The SVF-78 stress coping inventory was administered. The relationship of SVF-78 subscales to thevariable study mode (full-time, parttime) was investigated. As for the statistical procedure, Levene?s Test for Equality of Variances and two independent sample t tests were used. The most important finding shown by results of this study is a higher usage of the tree optimal coping strategies ? situation control, reaction control and positive self-instructions ? by part-time students. Part-time students also use the minimization strategy more frequently and the resignation strategy less frequently thanfull-time students. The study has some limitations, because the sample is not representative ? subjects were students of the Faculty of Economics and Management, with a majority of women in both compared groups.
