In 2012, several organizers of more and more popular farmer's markets founded their own professional group, Association of farmer's markets, which should ensure the origin and quality of products being sold. Farmer's markets in the Czech Republic are also directed into brick-and-mortar stores, analogously to such situation in Germany or Belgium. According to the company Economist Intelligence Unit, food in the CR is safe and of good quality; it is at the same level as German food in nutritional standards and safety. The objective of this paper is to characterize the level of farmer's and organic food products' sale on markets in the Czech Republic and EU (Germany) and to present suggestions for solution of imperfections.
