To have the separate components of a business model identified and have them correctly adjusted is an important strategic device for every entrepreneur in todays competitive environment. The paper deals with different types of business models applied in this sector of small and medium size farms in the Czech Republic. The main aim of this paper is to identify and categorize activities undertaken by Czech farmers into homogeneous clusters and to offer recommendations on modification of the business model. The research was based on data from the Farm Accountancy Data Network. The principal component analysis and cluster analysis were carried out as part of the assessment, under which farms are categorized into homogenous groups. The results showed that the farms surveyed can be categorized according to similar economic characteristics, production plans and implementation processes into three basic clusters.
