This article assesses the legal regulation of competition rules in agricultural business within the legal framework of European law. It is assessed what role is played by the major European institutions and bodies in the process of the adoption of legislation which aims at creating fair conditions for all subjects active in agricultural business. Within the major EU institutions, those having impact on EU legislation on agricultural advertising include the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Parliament, the Agriculture and Fisheries agenda of the Council of the European Union, the Agriculture, rural development and environmental section of the European Economic and Social Committee, and the Commission for natural resources of the Committee of the Regions. Some specialized agencies include the Consumers, Health, Agriculture and Food Executive Agency, the European Food Safety Authority, the Community Plant Variety Office, and the European Environment Agency.
