Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The aim of this chapter is to explain the social impact of organizations such as universities of the third age (U3A) on seniors. Seniors are becoming a growing part of society; they are often in much better physical and mental condition than their predecessors. In order to maintain autonomy and live independently, without involving family members or the state institutions, it is necessary for seniors to take care of their physical and mental condition. To explain the role of educational institutions in creating social value through implementation of SDGs (inclusiveness) dedicated to older generations, as well as the effects of lifelong learning, the qualitative research among participants and organizers of U3A was conducted. The results lead to the conclusion that social activity and interactions with other people bring several benefits for all – not only seniors but also for trainers and seniors’ families.
