The effect of time feed restriction (experiment 1) and quantitative restriction (experiment 2) on performance, slaughter parameters and meat quality were studied. Growth and feed consumption were not statistically affected by restricted feeding. Four weeks of time restriction statistically increased leg muscles weight. Duration of restricted feeding did not significantly increased liver weight. Quantitative restriction decreased dorsum weight. Restriction reduced renal fat weight and significantly decreased pH3 (measured 3 hours after slaughter) in dorsum.
