Název v původním jazyce
Auto-aggregation and co-aggregation ability in bifidobacteria and clostridia.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
A total of 142 human and 88 calf bifidobacteria were isolated and identified, about 12 % of all strains isolated showed auto-aggregation phenotype (Agg+). Eighteen human and 8 calf origin bifidobacterial were examined for properties predicting their adhesion to intestine (auto-aggregation and hydrophobicity by xylene extraction). Co-aggregation of 8 human bifidobacteria with 8 clostridia was tested. Auto-aggregation varied between 16.3 and 96.4 %, hydrophobicity values ranged from 0 to 82.8 %. The strongest auto-aggregation and hydrophobicity were observed in B. bifidum and B. merycicum isolates. However, there were no statistically significant correlations between these two properties. Variability in percentages of auto-aggregation and hydrophobicityafter cultivation of bifidobacteria on different carbon sources were observed. All bifidobacteria showed co-aggregation abilities with clostridia tested but the percentages were very variable depending on specific combination of strains.
