The expert publication provides recommendations which allow users to maximize the potential of harvesters in primary electronic scaling of timber during production. Individual chapters describe the basic structure of the international StanForD standard with particular emphasis on the StanForD Classic version. It also describes the recommended settings of the harvester control software both on a general level and with respect to individual harvester manufacturers and their software products. Individual chapters define the correct setting of bucking instructions to ensure that valid Czech forest management regulations as well as recommended rules for measurements and bucking of timber are respected. This refers particularly to settings for bark reduction, length allowance, cutting window, nominal log length or the algorithm for volume estimation. It also provides the methodology of regular control measurements and calibrations using digital callipers equipped with a special software which meets the req
