20 Years of Cooperation between FTZ and SAUM/UTM (Moldova)
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
In 2025, the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU Prague) marks an important milestone — 20 years of cooperation with the State Agrarian University of Moldova in Chi?inău, today operating within the Technical University of Moldova. This partnership, led by the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTZ), is among the longest-running examples of Czech development cooperation in the fields of higher education. The event was attended by the academic representatives, students, long-term partners, and the representatives Embassy of the Czech Republic in Chi?inău. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to long-term project experts from UTM. In total 9 (Czech Aid, UNDP) projects were realized from 2006-2005, plus running Erasmus+ projects (2024-2027). Over the past twenty years, the partnership has delivered a wide range of tangible results, including modernised study programmes, strengthened research infrastructure, dozens of joint scientific projects, conferences and summer schools, and exceptionally intensive academic mobility — today the highest among all CZU partner countries. A major milestone was the establishment of a certified biofuels laboratory, unique in the region, supporting applied research and innovation in renewable energy. The cooperation has also demonstrated strong adaptability to emerging challenges, including support for Ukrainian refugee students at Moldovan universities in 2025.
