EDUCATION OF SENIORS AND MODERN TECHNOLOGIES: IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE DIGITAL AGE
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The paper focuses on the education of seniors, with an emphasis on the specifics of their learning and the importance of using modern technologies to improve their quality of life. The main objective of the survey is to assess the vulnerability of seniors in the area of digital literacy, especially with regard to their limited ICT knowledge and skills, and to determine their awareness of the risks associated with the digital world. The survey took the form of semi-structured interviews in homes for the elderly in the Czech Republic, where respondents shared their experiences of using the internet and information technology. The paper highlights the key role of motivation, the adaptation of educational methods to the specific needs of seniors and the importance of family and community support. The research confirms that properly conducted education can significantly contribute to overcoming social isolation and improving cognitive function, which has a direct impact on the overall quality of life of seniors. The text demonstrates the need for an accessible educational process that takes into account the physical, psychological and technological barriers of seniors, and provides recommendations for the effective implementation of educational programs aimed at this target group.
