Interaction of glass-ceramic scaffold with SBF and DMEM.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Glass Bioglass(R) was (by a method called "green body") transformed into a glass ceramic material called scaffold. The resulting glass-ceramic containes besides the main crystal phase Combeite minority phases Buchwaldite and CaO.SiO2. Because the crystalline phase contains practically no P2O5, and conversely the residual glass phase was completely free CaO, it was possible to monitor the process of dissolving the material in SBF solution and DMEM. In our tests we found that TRIS buffer, which is a standard component of the SBF solution not only to hold the pH in the solution SBF at a neutral level, but promotes dissolution of the crystalline phase of the test ceramic. Based on these findings, we sought other solution or buffer system, which meets the requirements for in vitro assays. It turned out that even with DMEM solution intended primarily for tissue culture cultivation shows great limitations and deviations from the real environment of blood plasma.
