The EU Food Safety Forum 2025 representsed a key milestone in the ongoing development of the European Food Safety Platform and its mission to strengthen collaboration across the food safety system. Hold in Rome in December 2025, the third edition of the Forum provided an interdisciplinary space that brought together policymakers, researchers, industry stakeholders, and emerging innovators to address current and future challenges in food safety through a multi-actor, science-policy-society approach.The conference focused on fostering dialogue and cooperation to enhance the resilience, sustainability, and safety of European food systems. Core sessions included a Science-Policy-Society interface designed to facilitate strategic discussions on preparedness for emerging risks and a co-creation session dedicated to updating the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) in line with evolving scientific, regulatory, and societal needs.By integrating diverse perspectives and encouraging participatory engagement, the Forum generated actionable insights, identify research priorities, and support evidence-based policymaking. The outcomes contributed to shaping a forward-looking European food safety framework, strengthening innovation, and reinforcing the connections between research, regulation, and industry practice in order to ensure safe, sustainable, and trusted food systems across Europe.
