Application of HAZOP method to transportation and storage of particle material

  • Popis výsledku v původním jazyce

This paper deals with some experience with HAZOP study of several processes and unit operations in pulp and paper industry focusing to those parts concerning the operations with granular, powder and small- lump sized materials. The particle materials areencountered firstly as raw materials (e.g. wooden chips, granular sulphur, sodium chlorate, various fillers, strew matters and modifiers in the production of asphalted cardboard-felt etc.). Secondly it is the dust, occurring in process area and in emissions from a ventilation system. A typical part of the production line under consideration starts from unloading materials from railroad cars, barrels, sacks or big-bags. It follows through the whole transport path with equipment like pneumatic conveyors(cell feeders), storage silos, smaller storage tanks and scales for daily doses etc. and finally it terminates in ventilators and filters. Sources of utilities like e.g. pressure air for transportation, drying and pneumatic control is als
