The new concept of a theoretical TBP curve together with the utilisation of standard simulation programs for calculations of distillation processes, where the substitute mixtures are established for feed streams, provide a convenient tool for the given purpose. It was verified that the usage of substitute mixtures of real components could fully replace the traditional concept of pseudo-components, assuming, of course, that we could cover the given temperature range by subsets of real components from thedatabase.
