Monitoring and Balancing Variables in Batch Processes Modelled as Discrete Events Systems
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Batch processes can be taken as discrete event systems. This approach enables to monitor dynamical changes of their state depending on both deterministic and stochastic events. States of batches and the whole batch process in discrete events can be determined by means of simulation. The obtained information is usually sufficient from point of view of scheduling and planning of production process. A batch represents not only a discrete object. It is but also certain amount of material that is modified during processing of the batch. Such changes can be modelled by means of attributes of batches. Consumption and modification of materials can be monitored during consecutive processing of batches. Consumption of auxiliary materials and powers and production of wastes can be monitored too. This methodology is showed on a model of pharmaceutical ferrous chloride production. The simulation model is created and all simulation experiments are carried out in Witness PwE simulation program.
