The development of the device for contactless collecting of human scent was based on a commercial vacuum cleaner.The number of sorbent layers, the volume flow of air passing through the sorbent, and the distance from the sample surface are the parameters that have been tested. The influence of the excitation by infrared radiation and the sampling duration has also been tested. For this purpose, the commercial vacuum cleaner was supplemented by parts, which provide the required airflow and the IR radiation source fixation, made of polylactic acid filaments by means of a 3D printer.Optimized sampling parameters were based on the recovery of three chosen chemical compounds from different groups of organic compounds.
