Mask and Performative Lecture about Mask Theatre

The mask acting workshop in the form of a performative lecture introduced the participants to three types of basic full-face masks: neutral, larval, and expressive from the perspective of acting methods of the 20th century. The self-experience journey offered physical preparation in relation to individual types, techniques, and principles of playing with a mask. Part of the workshop was not only a presentation of the theatrical mask phenomenon but also the sharing of findings from research covered in the Embodied Mask - Embody Truth of Mask project. The questions of what it means for a mask and an object, a mask as an object and an object as a mask, and whether the relationship between an object and a mask can be an impulse for play, creation, and theatre, were discussed.
